Egypt closes Giza Zoo, Orman Botanical, Aquarium Grotto Gardens due to coronavirus pandemic



CAIRO – 6 May 2021: Egypt’s Giza Zoo was closed for two weeks to as part of the anti-coronavirus precautionary measures, announced the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture in a statement on Thursday.





 





Minister of Agriculture Sayed Al-Qusseir announced the closure of the zoo, Orman Botanical Garden, Aquarium Grotto Garden and all parks affiliated with the ministry nationwide, starting from Thursday (May 6, 2021) for a period of two weeks.





 





He called upon the employees at the parks to abide by the anti-coronavirus measures and depend much more on the online services to reduce face-to-face communications.





 





Egypt’s cabinet announced on Wednesday a number of urgent decisions and regulations regarding the Coronavirus situation in the country, amid the rising infection rates.





 





“Gardens, parks and public beaches will completely closed during Eid al-Fitr holiday,” Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said in a press coneference on Wednesday.





 





He announced that shops, cafes, restaurants, Ramadan tents and malls will be closed at 9 pm as of Wednesday, and will last for two weeks.





 





He further added that concerts, weddings, meetings and conferences will be banned.  





 





According to his statements, Eid al-Fitr holiday will start from Wednesday
