CAIRO – 30 January 2021: Egypt has lost $ 14 billion because of coronavirus pandemic, said the Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait in media remarks to “Facts and Secrets” talk show on Sada El Balad T.V. on Thursday evening.

 

The Egyptian economy witnessed the second-best growth, comparing to other countries, amid the Coronavirus pandemic, he added.

 

He continued that some vital sectors such as tourism, hotels, and civil aviation were negatively affected by the virus.

 

On January 4, 2021, Maait said in a statement that the Egyptian economy is stable and is still able to face the repercussions of the coronavirus crisis.
