Egypt recorded 911 coronavirus cases and 42 fatalities on Wednesday

Egypt is currently witnessing the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, Minister of Health Hala Zayed said on Wednesday in a press conference.

Following the cabinet meeting in Cairo on Wednesday, Zayed stated that Egypt registered 911 cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, 123 more than Tuesday's 788 cases.

Zayed also added that 42 coronavirus fatalities were recorded nationwide in the past 24 hours.  

"This week, the 51st week since the discovery of coronavirus in Egypt, witnessed a leap in the numbers of daily recorded coronavirus cases and fatalities," she said.

Zayed added that there are currently 363 hospitals ready to receive patients and 200 extra ventilators available to face the increase in cases.
