Dudin speaks about COVID-19 situation in Jordan – Roya News English

The Minister of State for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the government, Sakher Dudin, said that performing Friday prayer in mosques might be allowed on the last two Fridays of Ramadan.

However, he said that this depends on the COVID-19 situation in the country.

In statements to Al-Rai Newspaper Thursday, Dudin confirmed that no decision has been taken yet regarding allowing citizens to perform Friday prayer on foot.

Dudin added that the epidemiological curve and the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in Jordan are declining, and as soon as the positive PCR test rates reach five percent, mitigation measures will be taken.

Regarding reopening sectors, Dudin explained that all sectors will gradually start reopening starting June 1, if positive PCR test rates continue to decrease to 5 percent.

He stressed that the government's goal is to reach a safe summer and start returning to normalcy.
