Friday, a member of the National Committee for Epidemics Bassam Hijjawi said that Jordan is witnessing a decrease in the percentage of daily positive PCR test results, which has been under five percent for the fifth consecutive week.
The kingdom has also been recording less daily COVID-19 cases, deaths, hospital admissions and hospital occupancy rates.
He stressed that the COVID-19 curve in Jordan is stabilizing, as well as the importance of vaccination and compliance with precautionary measures.
Hijjawi pointed out that no country is immune to another wave of the coronavirus pandemic, especially with the emergence of new strains of the virus, therefore ‘people must get vaccinated.’
He stressed the importance of wearing face masks and social distancing during June, July and August until the Kingdom reaches a good number of citizens and residents that have been vaccinated.
He noted that the goal is to for 70 percent of the people of Jordan to get vaccinated.
