Jordan records 16 COVID-19 fatalities, 743 new cases on Sunday

Ammon News - The Ministry of Health announced 16 Covid-19 fatalities and 743 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 9,092 and the caseload to 719, 976.

The statement added that there are currently 7,307 cases on Sunday countrywide.

The new infections comprised 192 cases in the capital, Amman, 118 in Zarqa, 90 in Irbid, including 4 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 73 in Karak, 54 in Mafraq, 49 in Tafileh, 42 in Balqa, 35 in Aqaba, 29 in Jerash, 27 in Ajloun, 20 in Madaba, and 14 in Ma'an, including 6 in southern Petra region, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 92, while 102 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.

According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Sunday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 2, 386 bringing the total to 703,577 since the outbreak began.

Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 963.
