The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, Adel Belbisi told Roya Saturday that three cases of the Indian COVID-19 strain were detected in Jordan.
Belbisi added that those infected have been self-isolating at home for a period of five days, noting that they did not travel outside Jordan.
He indicated that the infections involved two in Amman and one in Zarqa, confirming that their general health condition is good.
He added that the COVID-19 investigation teams conducted PCR tests for everyone who came into contact with the positive cases.
Additionally, Belbisi revealed that the ministry will follow previously-set procedures to deal with patients who test positive for the Indian mutation.
Belbisi called on citizens to continue adhering to the required health and safety measures, which include wearing face masks and social distancing.
Notably, he pointed out that seven Jordanians arrived from India at the Queen Alia International Airport via Gulf countries, pointing out that they were not infected with the coronavirus.
