Kuwait imposes partial curfew amid record spike in coronavirus cases

KUWAIT CITY — The Kuwait government has decided to impose a partial curfew for a month and extend the ban on entry of non-Kuwaitis into the country until further notice amid a record spike in coronavirus cases, said the country's Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohamad Al-Sabah, who is also the foreign minister, following an extraordinary virtual meeting of the Cabinet in a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency.The move, which restricts movement across the country from 5 p.m. in the evening till 5 a.m., will be effective from Sunday (March 7) and will continue until April 8.The minister also said that the National Guard forces, in cooperation with police personnel, are tasked with enforcing the night curfew.During the curfew time, people are allowed to go to mosques on foot and pharmacies to buy medical supplies while shops, cooperative societies, and markets are permitted to carry out their activities through only delivery service.The commerce ministry is assigned to take necessary measures to deliver
