White House rejects Covid-19 vaccine passport concept as debate heats up

The Biden administration has said there will be no federally mandated credentialing system for people to show their Covid-19 vaccine status amid a fierce debate over vaccine passports as states reopen and travel ramps up.

"The government is not now nor will we be supporting a system that requires Americans to carry a credential,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during Tuesday's press briefing.

"There will be no federal vaccinations database and no federal mandate requiring everyone to obtain a single vaccination credential."
