Covid-19: Virtual workshop on primary healthcare practices held| Times Of Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Directorate General of Primary Health Care (DGPHC) organized recently a virtual workshop on primary healthcare (PHC) practices amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The workshop was held in conjunction with World Health Day, which came under the theme "Building a fairer, healthier world" so that anyone can access the health services. The workshop aimed to develop the appropriate mechanisms for follow-up and assessment in order to circulate them to all health institutions in both the government and private sectors. H. E. Dr. Jean Jabbour, Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Office in the Sultanate indicated that the PHC is the main pillar of the health system as it is the key entrance to health coverage. He stressed that the Sultanate has worked within the last five decades to spread health services across the Sultanate. At the same time, the Sultanate focused on supporting the PHC components by supporting the national health programs such as the Expanded Program of Immunization, and maternity & child care and health education program.
