48 outlets shut over COVID-19 violations in Jeddah

JEDDAH: Municipalities in the Kingdom have shut 48 commercial outlets as part of their efforts to monitor compliance with health and safety measures to stop the spread of COVID-19. The municipality of Jeddah governorate carried out 8,256 inspection tours of commercial centers and facilities in two days, identifying 56 violations. The authorities closed 47 commercial outlets for breaching coronavirus protocols. The Eastern Province municipality carried out 1,409 inspection tours in one day across shopping malls, commercial centers and stores. These checks resulted in the closure of one commercial outlet, while three violators were given penalties for ignoring health regulations.
