Makkah region sees highest number of new infections as virus cases in KSA fall steadily

Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia remained below 900 on Saturday for the second consecutive day, with 825 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health, 15 more people died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 433,094 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,162. The ministry also reported 1,028 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 417,787. The Makkah region recorded the highest number of new cases with 263 followed by the Riyadh region with 231 and the Eastern region with 98 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with three regions reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 8,145 active cases and 1,376 of them were in critical condition.
