Unvaccinated individuals account for 99% of COVID-19 critical cases: MoH

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH "” Unvaccinated individuals account for 99 percent of COVID-19 critical cases who require treatment in intensive care units, according to the Ministry of Health. The ministry's estimate is based on the analysis of critical cases reported in the Kingdom during the period from Dec. 28, 2020, to June 7, 2021. The ministry announced on Thursday that the number of active coronavirus cases reached 12,174, of whom 1,389 are critical cases receiving treatment in intensive care units. Meanwhile, the ministry said it has administered 7,946,774 doses of coronavirus vaccines since the start of the campaign across the Kingdom until Thursday (July 1). Those who received the first dose stood at 16,353,341 while those who took two doses reached 1,593,433. The number of elderly people who have been inoculated against coronavirus accounted for 1,352,244.
