Covid-19 vaccination centre opens in Dubai World Trade Centre; minimum age for jab reduced to 16

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has set up a new Covid-19 vaccination at One Central within the World Trade Centre Freezone.

In a video posted by Dubai Media Office on Sunday, January 17, it shows teams setting up the venue in just 72 hours.

The One Central Covid-19 Vaccination Centre has a capacity to inoculate 4,000 people a day and is aimed at boosting the emirate's mass vaccination campaign.

The announcement of the new vaccination centre came on the same day that the UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said all UAE citizens and residents aged 16 and above are now eligible for vaccination under the National Vaccination Programme against Covid-19. Previously, it was only available for those aged 18 and over.

The vaccine is being provided free of cost to both citizens and residents across the emirate.

The total number of vaccination centres in Dubai has reached 120.
