UAE Covid-19: Onsite school classes in Abu Dhabi from today

In early signs of return to normalcy in the education sector, private schools in Abu Dhabi can welcome back all students from today while maintaining a maximum capacity of 30 pupils per classroom. However, Sharjah has announced 100 per cent online classes from today to February 28. The emriate has announced 100 per cent distance learning for all public and private schools from February 14.

Private schools can now have 30 students in a classroom

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) has issued policy guidelines to parents on the resumption of classes.

On August 30, schools had started receiving students in phases with a maximum number of 15 in a classroom. Now, the capacity has been doubled and students of many grades will be in classrooms for the first time since March 2020. “All students may physically return to school starting February 14, 2021,” Adek said in its parents' guide.

All staff and students aged 12 years and above need a Covid-19 negative PCR test to attend classes. Outdoor activities during the physical education classes can be resumed by following precautionary measures. Meanwhile, parents continue to have the
