Dense mist expected to continue across northern Egypt this week: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) is expecting dense mist to continue during morning hours this week, engulfing highways and agricultural roads close to water bodies in Cairo and other northern areas.

Egypt has seen dense mist over the past two weeks and many main roads are being closed for few hours every day to avoid road accidents. The mist reduced visibility on roads going to or from Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coast, as well as the Suez Canal cities and northern and central Sinai.

On Sunday and Monday (10-11 January), the EMA expects a dense mist that may turn into fog on the aforementioned roads.

On Tuesday, a dense mist is also expected. The EMA said those roads will see mist on Wednesday and Thursday, but
