Ministry signs agreement to support Oman’s honey industry

Muscat: An agreement was inked between Oman's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) and Oman India Fertiliser Company (OIFC) to support the honey industries in the Sultanate.The pact was signed in cooperation with the Office of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA).The agreement was signed by Dr Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture, and Said bin Talib Al-Ma'awali, Chairman of OIFC Board of Directors.The project aims to address some of the challenges facing the honey industry in the Sultanate in line with the agricultural and rural development strategy 2040, its investment plan, FAO strategic objectives and the provision of capacity building programmes with a
