Over 250 trees planted in Wilayat Bidiyah

Muscat: More than 290 wild trees have been planted in Wilayat Bidiyah by the Environment Department in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. 

A statement issued online by Environment Authority said, "The Environment Department in North Al Sharqiyah governorate today carried out a campaign to plant 300 wild trees in the wilayat of Bidiyah, in cooperation with the Environmental Cultivation Initiative team, Oman Environmental Service Holding Company (be'ah), the Omani Women Association and a group of volunteers."

"Cultivation comes as a continuation of the national initiative to cultivate 10 million wild trees in the various governorates of the Sultanate with the aim of increasing and improving vegetation cover in pastoral and degraded natural areas and activating community participation in preserving wild plants and preserving plant diversity," the statement added.
