Tesla competitor Lucid Motors just completed its first factory in Arizona where it plans to build 400,000 EVs a year

Lucid plans to expand the factory's footprint and production capacity over the next several years.

Lucid Motors announced Tuesday that it finished building its first factory in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Lucid will start producing up to 30,000 vehicles per year at the plant in 2021, with plans to ramp up capacity to 400,000 units annually. 

The startup plans to build out the 999,000-square-foot facility to more than 5 million square feet over the next several years.

Electric-vehicle startup Lucid Motors finished construction on its first factory, the company announced Tuesday. 

The facility “” named AMP-1, which is short for Advanced Manufacturing Plant “” is 999,000 square feet and sits on a 590-acre site in Casa Grande, Arizona.
