The UAE’s souvenir scene often reflects the country’s population – full of imports and foreigners.

While the UAE’s population is nearly 90 percent expat, the country has its own unique culture and history – even if it is often tucked beneath the surface.

Stevi Lowmass, an expat herself, wanted products that reflected the culture of her adopted desert home and founded The Camel Soap Factory over a decade ago in 2011 so visitors could bring home souvenirs that more aptly reflected the UAE’s culture.
