Dubai’s industrial production index up 12.37% in Q3-20

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai's industrial production index (IPI) rose by 12.37% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) during the third quarter (Q3) of 2020, versus a decrease of 8.22% QoQ in the second quarter (Q2) and 2.89% in the first quarter (Q1) of 2020, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.





On an annual basis, the IPI, covering the manufacturing sector, declined by 1.2% in Q3-20, when compared to the same period of 2019, as shown by a report published by the Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC).





Meanwhile, Dubai's IPI went down by 0.47% year-on-year (YoY) in Q1-20 and by 13.24% in Q2-20.





The decline in IPI is driven by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which significantly affected the production.
