Dubai’s diamond hub status cemented with new GIA lab

The new facility will offer efficient and science-based diamond grading services by the GIA, a globally recognised name in the diamond industry. “Opening a laboratory in the important global diamond centre of Dubai is a significant step in expanding our services to advance our important consumer protection mission and meet the needs of the industry,” said Tom Moses, GIA executive vice president and chief laboratory and research officer. The state-of-the-art lab is in a custom-designed space on two floors at Uptown Tower. “The establishment of the laboratory at Uptown Tower adds significant value not only for our free zone members but also for the wider industry, particularly when it comes to speeding up cycle times,” said Ahmed bin Sulayem, DMCC executive chairman and CEO.
