Egypt’s GASC buys 180,000 tonnes of Romanian, Ukrainian wheat in tender

HAMBURG- Egypt's state grains buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities ( ), said on Monday it had bought 120,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat and 60,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat in an international tender. GASC had been seeking the grain for shipment Oct. 15-Oct. 25. GASC did not give further details. Traders said the following purchases were made: - 60,000 tonnes Romanian wheat from Grain Export at $308.50 a tonne FOB plus $29.60 freight (ocean shipping) totalling $338.10 a tonne c&f - 60,000 tonnes Ukrainian wheat from Inerco at $304.25 plus $36.08 freight totalling $340.33 a tonne c&f - 60,000 tonnes Romanian wheat from ADM at $308.50 plus $34.43 freight totalling $342.93 a tonne c&f Offers in the tender were submitted earlier on Monday. In its last tender on Aug. 18, GASC bought 180,000 tonnes to be sourced from Romania and Ukraine, with the lowest price for Romanian wheat at $294.99 a tonne FOB plus $34.43 ocean shipping totalling $329.42 a tonne c&f.
