Digital DEWA, du join forces to develop 5G use case for smart grids

UAE telecom operator Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) has entered into a partnership with Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and its subsidiary, InfraX, to develop a new 5G use case for smart grids in the city.

The leading telecom provider has made vital 5G contributions to Emirati society since rollout activities began, offering residents, businesses, and industries with valuable connectivity benefits via the technology.

According to the statement, InfraX will now have access to a highly capable 5G network to enable a seamless use case that boosts on-site operational efficiency, with 5G housing the capabilities to generate transformative and sustainable outcomes.

The alliance was announced at GITEX Technology Week 2021, which is currently taking place at Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC).
