The 2021 Global Energy Forum: Foreseeing the Post-Pandemic World in a Virtual Convention

An annual energy forum will be held over the next four days virtually, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week as representatives from different governments, energy organizations, and stakeholders convene to discuss plans and expectations of the new year.

Every year, upon invitation from the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum, specialists from the energy sector gather in a different spot to set the agenda for the next 12 months, during which they build on developments that have either affected the industry throughout the previous year or ones that are expected to take place during the next one. However, in light of coronavirus limitations, the 2021 forum will be held online through the website.

Amongst the goals on the 2021 forum's agenda is for the participants to discuss 2021 plans, opportunities, hopes, in addition to economic and geopolitical challenges they wish to overcome.

More than 120 individuals have been confirmed as guest speakers so far, many of whom represent the energy sector from the MENA region, including the Emirati Minister of Energy and Industry and the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change.
