SEWA’s Peak Hour looks to raise efficiencies in electricity, water – MEP MiddleEast

The Conservation Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) has intensified its efforts to launch “Peak Hour” activities, which the authority is organising for the seventh year in a row on July 1 from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

The Peak Hour aims to attract the largest number of institutions, government departments, companies, and community leaders to participate in supporting the initiative under the directives of HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The initiative also aims to develop awareness among officials, institutions, companies, community leaders, and individuals of the importance of energy and water, methods of optimal use, and the need for periodic maintenance of devices and strengthening the capabilities of collective action to confront global warming through rationalising energy consumption and using natural resources in a more conscious manner.

The director of the Conservation Department, Eng Ghada Juma Salem, explained that the government departments, private companies, establishments, and community members, in addition to a number of Arab and international organisations and institutions would participate in the initiative, by switching off unnecessary devices, conducting maintenance work, promoting the initiative, and contributing to achieving significant positive results and spreading the culture of
