Automobile fuel production rises 1.8% in Oman

Muscat: Oman's refineries reported an increase in the production of automobile fuel by 1. 8 per cent during February 2021, compared to February 2020, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). The Sultanate's production of standard grade petrol (M-91) by Omani refineries stood at 1, 676, 700 barrels, comprising a decline by 20 per cent at the end of February 2021, compared to the same period in 2020. Domestic sales of petrol (M-91) stood at 1, 323, 300 barrels whereas its exports reached 366, 100 barrels, a decline by 71 per cent, compared to February 2020. The output of super grade petrol (M-95) reached 2, 680, 700 barrels at the end of February 2021, an increase by 22 per cent, compared to February 2020, which stood at 2, 195, 200 barrels. Of the total production, domestic sales of petrol (M-95) stood at 2, 234, 400 barrels, a rise by 6 per cent while its exports stood at 534, 400 barrels, comprising a surge by 891 per cent, compared to the end of February 2020. Gas oil (diesel) output soared by 37 per cent to 6, 563, 300 barrels. Domestic sales of diesel stood at
