OETC operated Nahida grid station enters service

Muscat: The Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) operated Nahida grid station 400/132 kV entered service last week and is considered the first of the 'Rabt' project. The project consists of 14 Gas Insulator Switchgears of 400 kV, and two transformers with a voltage of 132/400 kV, each with a capacity of one Including 500 megavolt-amperes, 8 Gas Insulator Switchgears of 132 kV, control, protection, communications and associated construction works. Also, the 400 kV overhead lines connecting Izki and Ibri grid stations were diverted to pass through the Nahida grid station. This grid station is considered the main linking point between the north and south of the Sultanate by linking the electricity network of the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) in the north with the electricity network of the Petroleum Development (PDO) Company of Oman.
