Comment: Mechatronics and the future of manufacturing – MEP MiddleEast

The advent of new technologies is profoundly changing the manufacturing processes and the advanced operating techniques have been implemented by companies across the globe as part of their bold new vision for the factory of the future.

One of the most crucial elements to the factory of the future is the adoption of the mechatronics approach- a combination of mechanic and electronic domain. This combination should not be overlooked as more devices are connected to the internet, and, the significance of increased collaboration between mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering is increasingly pushed to the fore.

The best part of the mechatronics approach is that it makes engineering processes simpler and increases the possibilities to reuse individual parts and software of the production cycle, thus making it both cost-effective and highly efficient.

It is simply achieved as a result of its integration of elements such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telecommunications, optical engineering, and systems and controls. [1]

The companies in the automation space who are setting new trends and paving their way to the factory of the future are most successful, this was especially evident during the pandemic which affected the economies of countries and the liquidity of a number of sectors.
