The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA)’s Khorfakkan Department, has completed the connection of electricity to light the tunnels of Khorfakkan Road from the Khorfakkan network, which was previously fed by diesel machines.

The nine diesel generators were replaced following the installation of four 11/415 kV stations, fed from the 1133kV subway station.

In addition, the project also included the extension of main interconnection lines from the Khorfakkan power plant to the subway station (1133 kV), with a length of more than 13 km, as well as installing sub-stations (11/415 kV).

The director of the Khorfakkan Department, Eng Ahmed Al Mulla, stated that the implementation of this strategic project is in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide the best services to all regions of the emirate of Sharjah.

The project also comes within the framework of SEWA’s keenness to develop its services and achieve stability.
