Mitsubishi ships gas turbines to UAE's largest natural gas-fired GTCC facility

Mitsubishi Power, a power solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has shipped three gas turbines to the Fujairah F3 power plant in the UAE. The 2,400MW power plant will become the UAE's largest natural gas-fired gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) facility, contributing to the country's power generation sector and the GCC's power grid, according to a press release on Thursday. Meanwhile, the plant is the first project in the Middle East using advanced M701JAC model turbines, which were shipped from Mitsubishi's Takasago Machinery Works in Hyogo Prefecture. The project is operated by Fujairah Power Company F3, a special purpose company (SPC) jointly owned by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), Mubadala Investment Company, Marubeni Corporation, and Hokuriku Electric Power Company.
