Abu Dhabi’s non-oil foreign trade down 9.5% in 5 months

UAE - Mubasher: The non-oil foreign merchandise trade through Abu Dhabi ports dropped by 9.5% to AED 80.2 billion during the first five months of 2020 from AED 88.6 billion in the year-ago period.

Abu Dhabi's non-oil exports recorded AED 23.2 billion in the January-May period in 2020, down 7.2% from AED 25 billion in the same period of 2019, while the re-exports dropped by 31.3% to AED 14.8 billion from AED 21.5 billion.

Meanwhile, the imports increased by 0.4% to AED 42.24 million in the first five months of 2020 from AED 42.09 million in the corresponding period of 2019.

The industrial supplies accounted for around 45.6% of Abu Dhabi's total non-oil foreign merchandise trade with AED 18.23 billion, followed by food and beverages
