4k projects in Upper Egypt at LE296B in 7 years after decades of marginalization

CAIRO - 8 June 2021: A total of 4,446 projects began in Upper Egypt in seven years at L.E.296 billion, of which 2,343 projects have already been accomplished at L.E.51 billion. In governorates at the borders, 1,498 projects are being executed at L.E.182 billion. In general, about 25,000 projects have either been inaugurated or are being executed at a cost of L.E.4 trillion from July 2014 to June 2021. Upper Egyptians have long complained about marginalization and centralization in the capital, as many of their residents migrate to larger cities in the north to find jobs. Upper Egypt also have some of the least population figures in the country, unlike the Delta.
