President Sisi inspects Mostaqbal Misr project for sustainable agriculture

CAIRO – 8 January 2021: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inspected on Friday Mostaqbal Misr [Future of Egypt] project for sustainable agriculture in Dabaa city, Marsa Matrouh governorate.

 

The project targets reclaiming 500,000 feddans (one feddan equal to 1.03 acres) along the Dabaa Corridor road, northwestern Egypt, said Egyptian Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement on Friday.

 

The project comes in light of the state's strategy to maximize the productive opportunities of land reclamation and agricultural production and to become one of the national development megaprojects, Radi said.

 

Mostaqbal Misr aims to provide high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices to citizens, and to bridge the gap in the local market between production and imports, he added, noting that it, consequently, would achieve self-sufficiency
