King Hamad Causeway Project reviewed

A meeting of the High Steering Committee for the phase study of the King Hamad Causeway Project convened today to follow up the outputs of the economic, financial and technical study of the project and the accompanying railway, which came within the directives of the GCC leaders to set up a railway network connecting the GCC member states.



The meeting was attended by Saudi Transportation Minister Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, President of Saudi Public Transport Authority Dr. Remih bin Mohammed Al Remih, Board Chairman of the King Fahad Causeway Organisation Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Haqbani and Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication Undersecretary for Land Transportation and Post Eng. Sami Abdullah Bu Hazza.



A detailed presentation was given during the meeting on the latest developments of the project, including the financial model, funding method, the general framework for cooperation with the private sector and revision of the implementation schedules of the project's phases.



The committee approved the outputs of the study and the proposed schedule. An induction workshop will also be prepared for the project with the private sector, including investors and developers to identify the sector's
