Ministry celebrates World Autism Awareness Day in Dhofar Governorate

Salalah: The Directorate General of Social Development in Dhofar Governorate, represented by the Autism Unit of Al Wafa Centre for Persons with Disability in Salalah organised a celebration on Tuesday within the celebrations of the World Autism Awareness Day.

The celebration was organised at Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Recreation in Salalah under the patronage of Hamid bin Awadh member of Majlis Al Shura representing the Wilayat of Salalah and others.

Omaia bint Hasan Al Nahdi, Head of Al Wafa centre in Salalah said that the Sultanate of Oman accorded top priority to persons with disability through the establishment of the specialised government Al Wafa centres and through offering services through private centres.

She said that Autism Unit in Salalah offers its services to this category.

The unit is designed under the international standards with specialised national medical cadre.

The celebration included various sections and a video presentation on the Autism Unit at Al Wafa Centre.
