45 judges in intellectual property courts – Saudi Gazette

RIYADH “” Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Suwailem, the CEO of Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP), disclosed that there are 45 judges working at specialized courts for intellectual property in the Kingdom.In an interview with Okaz/Saudi Gazette, he said that these judges are trained in various aspects of intellectual property. There are judicial circuits specialized in intellectual property under commercial courts.Al-Swailem affirmed that the Kingdom is one of the few countries in the world that has intellectual property courts. He stressed that the SAIP has taken a firm position on the issue of piracy.

"The percentage of women applying to protect their creative works is estimated at 25 percent of the total requests. Many creative ideas that come from women are of very high quality and caliber,“ he added.
