Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The mayor of the Eastern Province (Al-Sharqiya) Fahad Al-Jubeir has said that the region has promising investment opportunities with the participation of the private sector estimated to SR6 billion, in order to alleviate the burden of the country in some services. Most notably as cleaning, garden maintenance and lighting.

Participating in the 2nd Municipal Investment Forum “FURAS”, he said there are also promising investment projects that are underway in Dammam such as the sea taxi and ferries, which aim to ease the traffic congestion in the region.

Al-Jubeir said the port city receives about 7,000 trucks daily. The eastern coastal strip extends over a distance of 80 km with five major cities along it.

On his part, Governor of Al-Ahsa Prince Saud bin Talal noted that the authorities have made available all data with utmost precision and transparency so that the investors can benefit from them. The data will help identify the investors' priorities and trends in order to equip them with the infrastructure that serves their projects.

Al-Sharqiya region has about 35,000 commercial registries, he said, adding that it will increase to 50,000 by 2025, which would make the region a promising area for investors, whether through industrial or
