Saudi’s Al Jouf Municipality to implement drainage project worth $1.2m – MEP MiddleEast

The Operation and Maintenance Agency of Saudi Arabia's Al-Jouf Region Municipality has begun a number of rainwater and flood drainage network projects worth $1.2m (SAR4.7m), which are being implemented across the Sakaka city.

The projects include the rainwater and torrential drainage network extending over 900m from Shuaib Al-Atheer, with pipes of 800mm.

Other projects cover a length 2,200m, with pipes of 500mm, laid across at nine separate sites in the city of Sakaka. The total length of pipes implemented in the projects are 6,200 linear metres.

The undersecretary for the Operation and Maintenance Agency of the Al-Jouf Region Municipality, Eng Ahmed Al-Issa, said that the projects are being implemented in line with the municipality's plans to strengthen infrastructure for projects.

The projects are also being implemented to reduce the dangers of flooding caused by torrential rains in the monsoon season, according to the state-run Saudi Press Agency.
