UAE construction workers get Dh25,000 each for their children’s education

Construction workers in the UAE were given Dh25,000 in scholarships for their children’s higher education by Etisalat.

The surprise was organised by the telecom firm to mark International Labour Day, which fell on Saturday.

There are more than two million migrant workers in the Emirates, majority from south Asian and African countries, who work in the construction sector, with some earning as little as Dh700 per month.
