Amazon opens its largest delivery station in Abu Dhabi

Leading e-commerce retailer Amazon announced the opening of its largest delivery station in Abu Dhabi on June 23. The announcement coincides with the much awaited prime day deals that begin on July 12. It is the second-largest delivery station in the country and provides same-day and next-day deliveries to customers throughout the city. These include residents of remote areas, including Al Samha, Al Shawamekh, the Yas and Saadiyat Islands, Bani Yas and Al Wathba. A variety of jobs are available at the new delivery station for hundreds of full-time and part-time employees. Training programs are available to all employees in the UAE, including delivery station associates, operations, health and safety specialists, supply chain technology developers, and analytics specialists. It will help up-skill UAE talent in the future-facing e-commerce sector. The station will also create new opportunities for delivery service partners in the country. In November last year, Amazon announced with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) that its most technologically advanced Fulfillment Center in the region would be opening its doors in the capital in 2023.
