Amazon launches digital payment service for businesses in MENA

Amazon launched on Monday the Amazon Payment Services, a payment-processing service in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The move aims at providing businesses with affordable, user-friendly, and trusted online payment experiences using global and local payment methods, said Amazon.

"Established in 2013 as one of the first Fintech companies in the region, PAYFORT has gained a deep understanding of businesses' needs across the region. In 2017, Amazon acquired PAYFORT as part of the Souq Group acquisition. Since then, the focus has been on integrating PAYFORT and Amazon offerings to provide businesses with such services,“ said Amazon in a statement shared with Ahram Online.

Large-scale and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can benefit from the new Amazon payment services, according to the statement.
