How to optimise the value of data management

Cenker Ozhelvaci is vice president of emerging markets, managing director of Iron Mountain UAE and Turkey

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to major changes in the day-to-day workflow and processes in place within a short time frame, many of which would have traditionally required long planning processes before being put in place.

However, these processes built to survive short-term, are no longer enough. It is time for progressive organisations to work on the recovery phase and focus on creating new values: correcting their course, adopting new policies, and accelerating their digital transformation. Also, at a time when remote working has become the norm for many, it is now more important than ever before to parallel this with increased levels of flexibility and diversity incorporated into business models. Now is the time for business leaders seeking to recover revenue, to find new ways to create long-term value and ensure business continuity and replace the temporary solutions.

Many companies have realised that the time has come for higher level conversations on data management in all its facets - access, availability, delivery, and security.

Focusing on these four key imperatives can help maximise the impact of a modernised data management strategy on overall business performance.
