Egyptians must obtain pre-approved visa before travelling to Ethiopia: Egyptian embassy

Egypt's embassy in Addis Ababa has called on all Egyptian citizens travelling to Ethiopia to obtain entry visas in advance, not upon arrival at Addis Ababa airport, a statement from the embassy said on Tuesday.

According to the embassy's statement, Egyptian citizens travelling to Ethiopia for work must obtain the appropriate work visa in advance by submitting a work contract or an invitation from an Ethiopian employer.

For Egyptian citizens travelling to Ethiopia to work with the African Union, they must contact the AU commission in advance to confirm that it is coordinating with Ethiopian authorities to secure the appropriate visa for the visit.
