Monday, inspection teams from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities shut down 12 tourist facilities including restaurants and hotels. It also issued official warnings and fines for 39 other establishments as well as four individuals in March, for non-compliance with health and safety measures. In a press statement, the ministry said it strengthened its inspection campaigns over the past month and carried out 1,991 visits to tourist facilities across the kingdom. The Ministry reiterated the need for tourist facilities, employees and visitors to adhere to defense orders, which stipulate maintaining a safe distance and wearing face masks which can only be taken off when 'sitting down for food'.
