Monday, inspection teams from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities shut down 12 tourist facilities including restaurants and hotels. It also issued official warnings and fines for 39 other establishments as well as four individuals in March, for non-compliance with health and safety measures. In a press statement, the ministry said it strengthened its inspection campaigns over the past month and carried out 1,991 visits to tourist facilities across the kingdom. These inspection teams include representatives from the ministries of tourism and antiquities, health, labor, industry and commerce, in addition to the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), the Jordan Restaurants Association (JRA), the Jordan Hotel Association (JHA), and the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection and Tourism. ...read more...
