CAIRO - 2 June 2021: On June 2, many important events took place. 1800 - The smallpox vaccine appears for the first time in North America. 1815 - Napoleon Bonaparte proclaims the Constitution of Liberty in France. 1875 - The telephone is first introduced by the inventor, Alexander Graham Bell. 1886 - US President Grover Cleveland marries Frances Folsom, becoming the first American president to marry while in the White House. 1896 - Guglielmo Marconi receives a patent for the radio. 1932 - King Fouad inaugurates Almaza Airport amid a great popular celebration, where the first 3 Egyptian pilots boarded the first Egyptian planes. 1946 - The abolition of the monarchy in Italy and the proclamation of the republic, after King Victor Emmanuel III was deposed and exiled to Egypt and a ruling was issued that males from the former ruling family would not enter Italy. 1949 - The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is chosen as the official name for Jordan, and King Abdullah bin Al Hussein announces the annexation of the West Bank of the Jordan River to Jordanian control.
