GCC port operators expanding their value proposition and presence across supply chains: KPMG report

Port operators in the region are reimagining their operations, shifting to a broader concept of port-centric logistics, where they are part of a larger integrated ecosystem of global trade. However, the rapid increase in port capacities across the GCC region has led to a drop in utilization, as supply growth has outpaced demand. Global trade patterns are gradually changing, with regional trade replacing the traditional east-west international routes. These are among the key findings of Anchored in the new reality Ports perspectives, a new report by KPMG Lower Gulf, which captures the evolving dynamics of the region's maritime sector and the road ahead for port operators.
