OMV to supply co-processed SAF to Austrian Airlines
London, 3 December (Argus) — Austria's integrated OMV will supply 1,500t of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) produced by co-processing used cooking oil (UCO) to Austrian Airlines in 2022.
The biojet will be produced at OMV's 200,000 b/d Schwechat refinery, and will be supplied directly by pipeline to Vienna international airport. It will be available for fuelling aircraft from March 2022.
The additional costs for SAF are financed with the support of Austrian Airlines' passengers that use the Compensaid platform to support flights with biojet, OMV said.
