Kuwait’s airport to resume commercial flights on 1 August – Times of Oman

Kuwait City: Commercial international flights will once again be allowed to operate out of Kuwait International Airport from 1 August, when it will reopen, following its closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to plans put up by Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Kuwait's airport will operate at a 30 percent capacity from 1 August, for a period of six months. During this time, no more than 10,000 passengers per day will be allowed to use the airport, while only 100 flights are allowed to take off and land at the airport.

From 1 February, 2021 onwards, the airport will increase operational capacity to 60 percent of its peak, during which time a maximum of 20,000 passengers are allowed to pass through the airport, and 200 flights can take off and land every day. This will continue for another six months.

Kuwait's airport expects to be fully operational on 1 August, 2021, when it will prepare itself for more than 30,000 passengers and upward of 300 flights per day.
