COVID-19 positive Indians flying to Oman sent back home

Muscat: 7 Indians on an Oman Air flight to the Sultanate were found to be infected with coronavirus and returned home on the same flight. Oman has been taking stringent measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 and was on a partial lockdown which was lifted on May 15. Oman has reported a steady decline in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in May recording a marked decrease in the number of patients being hit by the virus. In a report shared by Oman News Agency, Oman’s Ministry of Health is quoted as saying that the decrease in the cases should not be a reason for people to lower the guard. While the start of the month showed a slight increase, there was a steady reduction in the number of new cases from the first week till May 20, with the recovery rate also improving, from 89 to 92 per cent, statistical analyst Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Maymani, is quoted as saying in the report by ONA.
